The reality is….

General

Most patients experience some pain everyday. A lot of people don’t believe this. Patients spend a lot of time trying to convince those around them that they require a different kind of patience and a different kind of compassion. They’re not trying to blow you off or flake out on you. This is part of the message the Madison Holland Foundation is trying to send. So, while you’re walking for cancer and donating to leukemia and lymphoma please consider sickle cell disease as well.

Wow. I don’t think the general public has any idea of the pain that sufferers of sickle cell anemia experience regularly. This single message really needs to be spread.

I think you’re right. The pain is the most significant part of it. But, it also effects every aspect of your personal and professional life. In the most severe cases, most decisions are made around the possibility of a pain episode. Thanks for your comments.
